3 Ways to Recommend Products Without Feeling Salesy

If the word “sales” makes you cringe, good news: you don’t have to be pushy to make affiliate income.

Try this instead:

1️⃣ Share your story. People relate to experience, not hype. The last time a friend raved about a restaurant, I am sure that you didn't feel like they were trying to sell you anything. They were simply sharing a great tip that they thought you would like,

2️⃣ Show proof. Screenshots, photos, or results make recommendations real. When you buy something online do you read the reviews? You don't know the reviewers, but you trust that they are honestly sharing their opinion. Social proof means a lot. Can you show "before and after" photos? Are there testimonials or reviews? Use them to help your buyer feel more confident.

3️⃣ Focus on benefits. Don’t just list features — show how it solves their problem. No one (ok...almost no one) cares about a laundry list of features. People are really only interested in WIIFM (what's in it for ME). They want to know how the product or service will solve their problem. Give them benefits that help them.

This isn’t “selling.” It’s helping people find solutions that actually work.
